Samira Vogel (1995) is a Swiss artist, weaver and educator, currently based in Zurich and Amsterdam. Her artistic practice revolves around weaving, viewing it not only as a technique and carrier of stories but also as a method and tool for exploring various facets of making and being. Her work involves research through the act of making, using textiles to offer a unique perspective on different places. She explores a wide range of fibers and material processes, adapting to their diverse rhythms. In different surroundings Samira invites people to join her interactive weaving installations, through which she explores the nature of collectivity, creating a sense of togetherness.
Samira holds a Master's degree from the Sandberg Instituut in Amsterdam, with a background in Art and Design Education from Zurich University of the Arts and Textile Design studies in Bangalore, India.
